Farming oysters is our favorite thing to do, but shucking them for people to enjoy is a close second! The Bombazine Oyster Company team has a lot of experience shucking at events like Harvest on the Harbor in Portland, the Freeport Oyster Festival, and the Newburyport Oysterfest. Getting to meet the farmers who worked to produce the seafood that you eat is a central part of the aquaculture scene. We also love the chance to chat with oyster lovers and fellow farmers and see first hand the joy that comes from slurping a delicious oyster. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to book us for your next event, whether it be a wedding, open house, fundraiser, or backyard party: we’ve got you covered.

Some things to know about our shucking operation:

  • we provide the traditional accompaniments of lemon, homemade mignonette, and cocktail sauce. Additional accompaniments are included with the event, just let us know so we can prepare them!

  • we can help determine how many oysters to include with your order based on the size and duration of your event, as well as whether additional shuckers are needed

  • all of our shuckers are employees on the farm as well and directly involved in the husbandry and harvesting of the oysters. We are proud to serve the product we worked so hard to grow!
